Materia Lumina

Materia Lumina ceramics celebrate the natural world—a world which its founder has easy access to, given her home base in Joshua Tree, California . Eefje Theeuws is a native of Antwerp but the architectural designer and ceramist now surrounds herself with the reverent quiet of the American desert, where she has developed a practice as a modern medicine women and healer. All of these elements—the sacred desert, the devotion to healing—are reflected in her organic, sinuous ceramics work, which ranges from hand-formed tableware to ceremonial objects, like "Ojos de Dios," or "God's eyes”.
