From his studio in Bethel, Vermont , Andrew Pearce creates world-class wood bowls and cutting boards. His design work puts him squarely in a tradition of family hand-workers: His grandfather made earthenware plates, bowls, and pitchers from local clay in Shanagarry, Ireland; his father turned a Vermont woolen mill into an innovative glassmaking atelier. Now, Pearce and his family focus on wood—specifically, cherry and black walnut, harvested from Vermont and New York.
