Ms. Taykeo Sayavongkhamdy is renown for the multi colored complexity of the silk weavings in her Vientiane gallery. “These scarves are a showcase for the best in Lao weaving,” says Peter Whittlesey, an author and collector. They are among the many admirers of Taykeo’s ability to blend highly sophisticated ancestral techniques with a contemporary sensibility and color palate. All of the weaving and dyeing is done by hand using only natural materials.
