Lucy M. Lewis is part of a group of female artisans known as “The Four Matriarchs,” who are credited with reviving the ancient Mimbres-style pottery. Lewis’ distinctive aesthetic is characterized by incredibly fine line, symmetrical patterns against a white background. Her work is included in collections at the Museum of the American Indian in New York City and the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.
